About
What is Bridges of Hope?
Since 2014, BOH has operated as a collaborative of New Haven area, Christ-centered churches
with a mission to mobilize ministry and increase fellowship across churches as a gospel witness
to the transforming love of Christ in Greater New Haven.
BOH is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of pastors of member churches
elected to serve. The Board oversees the work of a salaried Director, who carries out the
activities of BOH with the assistance of an Executive Team of volunteer lay leaders representing all
member churches as well as various volunteer teams. At present, the main activities of BOH are the annual I Heart New Haven service day and a weekly mentoring program for school-aged children at the Mill River Crossing housing development.

Our Mission
Bridges of Hope brings together New Haven-area churches to mobilize ministry and transform the city for God's glory and the common good of its residents.
We rely on a sustainable, impactful partnership between:
-
Christ-centered churches
-
Word-and-deed ministries (service-focused)
-
Private foundations
We cooperate with individuals and organizations of all faiths (or no faith) to achieve positive change, as long as it aligns with Christ's values. Bridges of Hope is also fully committed to racial reconciliation within our partner churches and all our ministry programs.

Our Faith-Based Commitments
I. Bridges of Hope is committed to the scripture of the Old and New Testament as our only rule of faith and practice unto which nothing should be added or taken away, whether by new revelations of the Spirit or human traditions. (2Tim.3:16, 2Pet.1:19-21, Heb.1:1, Rev.22:19).
II. Bridges of Hope is committed to the historicity and efficacy of Jesus Christ alone for our salvation as the second person of the holy Trinity sent by God the Father and in the power of the Holy Spirit as reflected in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds (1 Tim.2:5, Col 1:3-8, 2 Cor.11:3).
III. Bridges of Hope is committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that human flourishing begins and ends with being united to Christ’s love by faith alone, faith itself being a free gift of God’s grace by the Holy Spirit for those who receive him. (Jn 1:12-13, Eph. 2:1-10).
IV. Bridges of Hope is committed to the local church based ministries acting as the body of Christ on earth in the power of the Holy Spirit (Eph 1: 22-23, Eph.2:19-21).
